Mothers Group - Muse Festival - 2024

"Mothers Group" is an interdisciplinary performance work featuring movement and voice to explore womanhood, intrinsic connectivity, and the emotional complexities of joy, sorrow, resilience and vulnerability. The work draws inspiration from the collective insight and solidarity found in women's circles and ultimately celebrates the profound ability of women to come together with offerings of solace, understanding, and unwavering support in the face of adversity. It is more than just a performance – it is a ritual of healing, a celebration, and a testament to the enduring power of women.

The voice and movement is symbiotic; the choreography unfolds with grace and strength, embodying the nuanced experiences of women, while the live vocal score serves as a powerful companion, weaving a sonic tapestry that echoes the heartbeat of womanhood. It is through ethereal humming and rhythmic pulsations, the voice becomes a vessel for shared experiences, carrying the weight of untold stories and resilient spirits. The interplay of choir and choreography reflects this mutuality and provides an expression of the maternal strength of sisterhood.

It is more than just a performance – it is a ritual of healing, a celebration, and a testament to the enduring power of women.
