MALWARE
‘Malware’ is a hauntingly immersive dance piece that explores the profound vulnerability wrought by modern technology. Integrating live camera input, motion tracking, and soundscaping, this performance creates a dystopian world reminiscent of George Orwell’s 1984, where surveillance and technological intrusion magnify the fragility of human existence.
In this evocative work, the dancers’ every movement is captured and manipulated in real time by an array of cameras and sensors. These live feeds are projected onto a dynamic set, creating an ever-shifting digital environment that reflects the pervasive reach of technology. As the performers navigate this space, their gestures are transformed into visual and auditory elements that echo the themes of surveillance and control.
The choreography is designed to evoke a sense of entrapment and exposure, with movements ranging from subtle and introspective to frenetic and disoriented. As the dancers interact with the technology, their physical actions are both influenced by and projected onto the digital landscape, blurring the lines between their physical presence and their digital representation.
